Members cfthe board of works, parsed a declamatory resolution in Gary yesterday, whereby 35 3-4 feet of the property fronting on the north side of 25th avenue, between aJley 7, west and Broadway, will be cc-nderoned for fclreet purposes. This will make loth avenue a width of 85 3-4 feet, over the entire area th.it is to bo widened, instead of making U '5 feet at Broadway as first planned and then taper it off to 60 feet at Jackson street. Twenty-fifth avenue is At present 50 feet wide and according to City Planner Bennett, it will be one of the leading commercial streets on the south side in the future. Assessment against adjoining property benefited by the change will make payment possible by the city for the tract to be condemned.
