Daniel Kuauel HotJkon. president of thw Hahnemann Colleges of Chicago, has been chosen rreeidant of tho Valrra!so University, replacing; Hwmry Xlnsey Brown, who recently resigned. The trustees of the university, after accepting- Mr. "Brown's resignation, appointed fcim the new university burFar. A reorganization c-f the Board of Trustees also has been completed with Charles Jeffry. president of tha Farmers' State Bank, of this city, as chairroan; il. K. Iviwenstfne, secretary and George P. Heach. treasurer of thii city. All three live here. Other trustees are Dr. Howard Schlitt and F. E. Morton, of Chicago and three prominent business men of Chicane, -whose names are withheld. It Is the plan of the trustees to make the university "a leading business educational university." This institution has fourteen buildinfrs here, and allied medical and dontaJ schools in Chicago-. Smith college, this afternoon, at tha exercises attending the formal notification of Gov. Calvin Ooolidge of MasMLchtisetta, of his nomination ls the republican candidate for vic president. Thia quiet little Hampshire county city, termed by Jennie Llnd, the "paradisa of Ama-rica," was gayly decorated for tho occasion. The business section was literally blanketed with bunting of Ted, whit 9 and blue, from hundreds of home Cew the stars and stripes, and streamers and flags floated from polos and vires and tip Main and dm streets, to tha classlo precincts of Smith coilega.
