" FUNERAL OF WJS. REILLEY The funeral services over the late W. E. Reilley. 40 Warren St., were held this afternoon. Rev. Llcklider of the First Baptist church officiating. The minister aid that Mr. Reilley was born August 7. 1852. and received hia education in public schools of Burlington, la., to which place family moved when he was eight years of age. After leaving school he was in the service ot the C. B. &. Q. railway at Beardstown. ill. for several years as storekeeper. Moved to Mattoon. . 111., where he was employed by I. C. R. R. until 1S3D. when he moved to Lima, O. and was with the L. E. & W. R. R. for about ten years and C. H. & D. R. R. for two years. After leaving railroad service in Lima was elected justice ot the peace in Lima for two terms. Came to Hammond in 1912. Married Mrs. Elsie Wiegel on February, 1313. and wa semployed by the Locomotive Superheater Co. at the time cf death and is survived by two brothers and seven sisters. Tribute was paid to the decedent's splendid chararter and kindly disposition and many handsome floral offerings were given. the V. S. Senate from Kansas, died at her home here today following a prolonged illness ON SPEECH OF ACCEPTANCE DATTOX. O, July 27 Gov. James M. Cox hopes the democratic national campaign organization completed and rsady for action on or before or not later than August' 7. the date of his notification ceremonies. Though engrossed in his speech of acceptance, the governor is carrying forward- the organization of the national campaign committee by long distance telephone conversations with George White, recently elected chairman of the democratic national committees and Cox' campaign manager. Within a few days it is hoped to have the membership of the campaign committee complete, according to word received from Chairman White an-l shortly thereafter the speakers bureau and the financial division will be organized. The governor is anxious to have all these details agreed upon before tsarting his stump campaign. In true reportorial fashion the governor is writing- his acceptance speecn at hia home. Trails End, about five miles from here. He has divided the speech up into sub-divisions, each dealing with one subject, and as fast as one section is completed he "shoots a take" to the printer. He hopes to have advance copies coming- from his press a few minutes after the final paragraph is approved. The governor expects to complete the speech not later than next Saturday night.
