McADOO IS EEADING IN FIELD OF NINETEEN iContinued from pago one)
"I am not making guesses as to the exact ballot he will win en. but I don't think it will K'et beyond eight maybe it will bw less. For McAdoo is the popular candidate t he candidate of democracy." In rebuttal. Joseph C . Cliffy. of Pittsburgh, and the democratic national committeeman from Pennsylvania, said: ".McAd.'O cannot be nominated. His maximum sirmgth will be 313 votes. Wc feel that Palmer never had a better chance of being nominated than right now . " The confidence of the Palmentes was further expressed in this way by ex-Congressman Carlin, of Virginia, who is Palmer's campaign manager: A. Mitchell Palmer will be the democratic nominee for the presidency. Pon'l let 'anyone tll you otherwise. Palmer gathered exactly the number of votes on the tirst ballot that we had anticipated. He gained as we expected on the second. The swing to Palmer will really manifest ltseit on the third poll and from then on it will be Palmer all the way. Hell pass all bis rivals.' take a great lead and win eusiy and with a lot of votes to spare." The Cox crowd, despite the "We'll win" perdietions of the Palmer and McAdoo factions. were overflow ins with hope of success for the Ohio governor. The Colby coalition was on almost every tongue among members, of the Tammany caucus at which there were Massachusetts delegates prese nt. Among these was Li. H. Moore, leader of the Ohio ekhgation. llov. Cox's son-in-law. and others regarded as wheel horses of the Ohio delegation. It seems to be anything to stop McAdoo. with Colby as the last straw-. Following the conference in Mack's rooms, Moore made the prediction tiiat it would be Cux before 3 o'clock tins at'tcrnemn. There is an undercurrent of talk that McAdoo will bo over the top on foe fifth or sixth baliot. The alleged basis for this is the idea thit many of Palmer's adherents are federal ofhee holders, who. if the attorney-general docs not look like a winner today around noon, will begin to desert Inm and start a landslide for McAdoo. "But a wise old man from Pennsylvania whispers in our car: "The fact ia that the opposition to McAdoo will be over the top on the ter and more determined than r:gh. now. On the other hand. Palmer is stronger today than hes was before he came to San Francisco, stronger indeed than either he or his friends expected him to le in the early balloting "From Xew York to Illinois right through the heart of the so-called pivotal states there is a rock ribbed opposition to McAdoo with such eild and experienced leaders as Charley Murphy. Jim Xugent, Norman Mack, Ed Moore and George Brenr.an, working to defeat him because they do not believe in him. All eyes are on the following state pivots as the balloting starts: New York with 90 votes which may
shift 70 to Cox and ilu lo McAdoo; Oklahoma with 20 vote.', for I'wen. whi.h will probably suck to linn to the last: Virginia with 2 voles, which may shift to McAdoo at any iiioimnt; South luikotas 1 are looked upon as potential Mc.Vdo.i men: Indiana Is pretty sure to shift to McAdoo if the right time cono s: it is neU unlikely that McAdoo will attach North 'aroliii.i's 2 1 votes t his belt on the fourth ballot: Neve Jersey's I will go to (V wh.-n li.i wards throws up the spon.ce: Nebraska v 11 ii It! now held by Hitchcock tuny slide inio the MrAdoo column, We.t Virginia will s' 1, k a while longer to Iais. v ho - si ill a dark horse lu re and Palmer ni.-n claim Conne-cUeul's 11 votes now up fr ruin-tilings.

The usual method of feeding mostly grain, makes yolks but not enough whites to complete the eggs. As the hen cannot lay these halfmade eggs, she absorbs them back into her system. Missouri Experiment Station tests showed that 100 lbs. of wheat, corn, oan, barley and kaffir corn make (above bodily maintenance) an average of 224 yolks but only 154 whites. Based on data from the same experiments, Purina formulas produce, (above bodily maintenance) as follows: Purina Scratch Feed 247.49 yolk 142.11 white Purina Chicken Chowdr 182.05 " 282.55 " Combined Ration 429.54 yolks 424.66 white
Note the perfect balance of yolks and whites and t!?e large number of each. This combination of Purina Feeds makes the maximum number of complete eggs, eggs a hen will lay. That's why we xaa absolutely guarantee
more eggs or money back on Purina Chicken Chowder if fed with Purina Scratch Feed as directed. You ake no risk.

Perish?
YOU Polish-Americans must decide. The fate of the new-born Republic is in your hands. Poland has thrown off the yoke cf the oppressor and is entering upon a new life full of promise But, Poland must have money, at once. She is borrowing $50,000,000 giving in exchange 6 per cent, twenty-year gold bonds backed by all the great resources of the country and by the undying patriotism of 35,000,000 liberty-loving people. Poland is not a beggar. She wants a loan, money that she has not and you have. Shall it be said of the 2,500,000 Poles in the United States who subscribed for $365,000,000 worth of American Liberty bonds that they are deaf to this appeal? Poland needs this money to rehabilitate herself build railroads to transport her products to waiting markets; to develop her mines and exploit her forests and to buy raw materials so that her waiting millions may return to wcrk. Your kindred in Poland have not the money to loan their Government you have. By buying Polish government bonds and sending them to Poland you are able to send money to your relatives and friends in Poland which is the same as ready cash. You will thus help both the government and your friends. Jan Ignace Paderewski, former premier of Poland, says: "The Polish Government does not ask for charity-, does not want any gifts, does not appeal for sacrifices. The Polish Government asks you to trust to it your savings and to help your Mother country as well as yourself. Your money is safe. I join my voice with that of the Polish Government and appeal to you all, my fellow countrymen." Gen. Pilsudski, Chief of State of Poland, said: "I regret that I can only subscribe $10,000 to the loan. Money is to a nation what arms and ammunition are to an army. ithout money a nation can no more exist than can an army without munitions of war. "I am confident that the help of our sons in the United States will.be forthcoming. They will not fail us. Our countrymen in America realize that support must be given in order that what has been won and created shall no perish." Your conscience surely will not permit you to refuse to respond to this appeal. 1 Shall Poland perish? She relies for her life on her sons and the sons of her sons, who have always responded loyally Answer,' Ybu Roles of America i'Shall Roland Perish?" You can get Polish Bonds at this Bank, or from all Polish Societies and Building and Loan Associations
