Earf Chicago, InlU June 30th, 1920.
My Dear Son: The other day I heard the ctihier of the "East Chicago State" give a depositor some adrice that sired him at least five hundred dollars. This chap came in to withdraw his savings and mentioned that he was going to buy stock in a company that PROMISED a return of 207c It was one of those wild-cat concerns, cf course. The teller called the cashier, who quickly showed the man that buying stock in that quarter was equivalent to throwing his money away. This incident showed me the real personal interest the "East Chicago tate" has in its patrons and makes me glad that I have my savings in such a bank. If I should want more than the 3 interest that they pay, they are always in a position to furnish me with a first mortgage bond that nets me a return cf 7rc, with absolute safety. Yours Dad.
