Beefsteak Pie pound of round, flank or chuck steak, cut in small pieces of uniform size. 1 teaspoon flour. 3 cupfuls of hot water or stock. J4 teaspoor pepper. 1 teaspoon salt. 10 small onior.s. 3 medium-sized potatoes, diced. Crust: 1 cupful flour. l1 teaspoons baking powder. i teaspoon salt. 1 tablespoon fat. J4 cupful milk. Remove the fat from the meat and try out. Sprinkle the meat with the

flour and brown in the fat and cook j until partially done. Add the seasonlings, onions, potatoes and hot water, or stock. Continue cooking in cov- ; ered frying pan or put in baking

dish, cover and cook slowly until the meat is done. If the cooking has been done in a frying-pan. when done put mixture in baking dish. Make a crush of the above ingredients as with baking powder biscuits. Either roll into one sheet large enough for top of baking dish or cut in small biscuits and -place ever pie. Bake fifteen minutes to .twenty minvrtes in a hot oven. A crust made of wellseasoned mashed potatoes is often used on this pie instead of the baking nowder crust. If desired, the potatoes mav then be omitted from the

inside of the pie.
