Both showed better form than during the first half yesterday at Weybridse. Hagen Koing around in 71. making his total r.coro 147. Barnes' score today was 74, making his total 135 and placing bin forty-first on the list of those qualified. Ha-en drove a very Jong ball throughout and placed his iron shots so well he had li'tle to do on the greens. Barnes" form was steady and he would have made a better score, but was balked by a tree at the twelfth holu and had to play back.

When Melcholr tackles Gunboat he will meet a heavy weight of international renown. Smith foueht Carpentier in London and although he lost on a foul, once had the 1'rem h champ on the floor. Ho also holds a twenty round decision over Jess Wil'.ard and s twelve round verdict over Sam Langford. These fights lire not recent, but he has not done so badly in his recent bouts as his victories over Willie MeeHan and Carl Morris will show. Neither of the two are slouches and Mechan leaped to fame in a night by besting Dempsey in a feur round whirl. Melchoir will have, to show plenty of speed to get away with anything. The other two bouts of the card will be light weight battles, both of which promise some Interesting moments. At the Automobile Race Meet held on this track Sunday, June 20th, the world's record was broken, which is conclusive evidence it is the fastest track.
