NEW NOTE SENT TO BERLIN TODAY BY KWTO-- C. PARKE ( 'STAFF CORRESPONDENT I H SERVICE! J ROLOtJNK. June 22 A new allied; rote, demanding: the immediate disarmament of Germany, m accordance j with the terms of the treaty of Ver- j saiiies. was sent to lierhn today. 1 1 j was formally approved by Maohal j F-ch and Field Marshal Sir Henry j TV:lont chief of the British general j staff. 1 Lesumptlon ,of commercial relations I with Ku.-sia and the troublesome Turiish question wa canvassed by the in-rer-ailifd conference today The meet ; inff probably will come to an end tom.irht . In some quarters no secret is made of the fact that so far the conferences has been barren of results except for the rejection of some of the international schemes proposed at previous meetings of the allied statesmen. One of the ledinpr participants, pri vately expressed his disgust t " ' ie j news-paper correspondents over th "Continued impractica.ble debates which doubtless wil! be continued elsew here . The action was taken in J epite of the fact that etery indusrrv. j husmess and individual of the city has j conformed to Chicago's action and adopted the new time. Alderman Rhed was the only councilman who opposed srioption. The eouncil was about evenly divided between Frank Callahan and IV C Vlor-I r-.s for member of the Ttoard of School j Trustees and a secret ballot was tn ken j with nine members of the council pres., ent. D. c. Morris was elected by a vote of five to four. A few of the council, men. who had plodded their vrftf-s for a woman chanped when they learned that the majority of 'he council were opposed to the election of a woman at this i time. Mr. Morris is superintendent of' the Gwrye Ft. Imbort compajjv. : Tn order to save money on the eoai 1 bill for the next year the council ap- j propriated ST.iOu to be used in the pur. chase and installation of electrical equipment at the Alder street and Ma-' eeun avenue pumpinK station. The action was recommended by the F!oard of TTorks. who found that the el..etrii eouipment wottld more than pay for itself in a sailr.fr on the roal bill alone and 'hat in addition the city will be tie to dispose of the services of several employes The Park Foard submitted an ordinance for the tfisue of $2nc.nne, bond at 1 per cent, which the city was unable to sen and the council passed it under suspension of rules. The Park Foard is now without funds and found it necessary to borrow $4.1 tlft from the cneral fund in order to meet the pnV roll for June. The council also aufhorizd the J4.A0O transfer under suspension of rules.
