The initiatory work which was to have oocurred last niffht was postponed until the last of June on account of the convention of the Knights which was nlso held last evening. The refrular routine of business was persued. several applications for membership were irtceived. after which a pleasant social me was enjoyed. Mrs. Thomas 1'ayne who is leaving Tuesday with her husband and children for Cheyenne. U'yo.. was rresenttd with a handsome linen taoble cloth, a pift of remembrance from the Pythian Sisters. The Central W. C. T. U. held its regular meeting yesterday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Carniham. 362 Truman ave. Mrs. Wm. Myers conducted the business session and read the letter which was received from Karl Flag, a soldier boy who is now in a hospital in Denver, thanking the ladies for knitted blankets. There were several charming songs by Mrs. George Adkins accompanied by Mrs. George Hauser. The home economics department had charge of the meetir,s. the subject for discussion was The High Cost of Living." Refreshments were served by the days com-M-iUce. The next meeting will "occur in two weeks at the home of Mrs. 'V. Myers. 91 Douglas St.. Friday evening, June 11th.

The Loyal Olivet Circle of the First Christian church helds its regular monthly meeting last evening at the home of Mrs. Everett Merrill. There were thirty members present who enjoyed a very nice evening. Mrs. D. Howard waa the assisting hostess and as both Mrs. Howard's and Mr. Merrills birthdays occurred in this month this meeting was a special event. Nice refreshments were served by the hostesses.
