Death of Wm. Winters William Winters of 313 E. State street. Hammond, die dlast night at St. Margaret's hospital fallowing a five weeks" Illness. Mr. Winters was a pioneer of Hammond, having lived here 41 years, where he had made many friends, who tviII be grieved to learn of his death. He leaves besides his widow, one daughter, Mrs. I C. Tewes, five grand, thildren and one great grandchild to mo-urn him.

Charged With Assault Jack Hunter, 233 Indiana avenue, was arrested yesterday on a warrant sworn out by Karl Horr, charging him with assault and battery. Horr alleger that Hunter beat Iiim withi-ut provocation. Hunter says Horr has been snooping about ha residence and annoying his mother-in-law. Hunter was "released o nbond.s fcr $300. He will be arraigned in the city court next Monday morning.
