Because of the unauthorized walkout of a number of our yardmen, we need experienced switchmen and young men desiring to learn the work. Many good jobs are open. The average daily wa'ge of our switchmen during March, 1920 (the last full month preceding the strike), was $8.30; the largest average for any one man, $! 0.85. There was work for every man every day. The Labor Board at Washington is considering a demand for an increase in the rate of pay. Safetv work has made switching reasonably safe for careful men. Apply: 7:00 A. M. Yardmastcr's office, Columbia Avenue. 8:00 A. M. to 5:00 P. M. Superintendent's office, Gibson. 8:00 A. M. to 8:00 P. M. Room I , Huehn Bldg., corner Logan and Hohman Sts., Hammond.
