MRS
FRIEDRICHS IN
ELGIN STATE HOSPITAL Wife Wlio Shot Former Hammond Man Meets Relatives.
Srrn.ir. To Tnr, Times. KICJI.V. Ihl... May 13 Mrs. II. C. Frledricks. who shot and killed her husband is in the psychopathic tuberculos ward in the Elgin State hospital . tor the first time yesterday since tho tragedy she was visited by her nmi her. 'Mis. Minnie Warnhoff, her broth. r Charles Warnhoff and a brother-in-law. Hoover all of Crown l'i i tit. in hep room . According to Ir. Ilir.ton the superintendent, Mrs. Kriedricks has hardly ta'kcd Miice she came to the hospital. Tie ward nurse says that the afflicted woman has never spoken to her.
A reporter who was present at the meeting of the relatives says that the room wherein Mrs. Kriedricks lies by an open window through which the noon sunshine streamed gloriously, is a complete contrast from the city jail cell in which she spent Saturday afternoon . It is cheerfully light and sunshiny, quiet and cool. The bright liht shows clearly the marks of great suffering that have deepened in her face ince the day of the crime, and constant weeping, doubtless, has put a
tin?e of pink Into her chalk-white fare and reddened her eyes. And the H still the thoroughly miserable, suffering woman before whom pity stands, checking human Judgement.
