This morning in the city court she bore a bruised face and blackened left eye. After beating Schreiber the grocery clerk ascended to the ntlic where he emerged when OfTicer Kandrei entered the house. Morgan and his wife had separated ever what he alleges was her loo friendly attitude toward Schreibcr. He showed further that Mrs. Morgan was fully dressed in spite of testimony to the contrary. Att'-rney Joe Conroy. for t tie defendant, appealed to the court to recognize in Morgan's attack upon Scbrcibcr a return to "t'ospel principles.' He nld it was high time we used the good old methods to curb the nefarious activities of the wife stealer. Judge Tinkha.m allowed that were Morgan being tried for assaulting Si hreiher his actions might he excusable. But, he pointed out. it was the woman who had been attacked and under the circumstances .Morgan mils, be found guilty. In view of the mitigating circumstances he assessed "but a light fine. According to M rs. Morgan, she will file divorce proceedings against her husband within a few day.
