any money which can possibly b paid them in the way of salary. The Manjrum terrace is built with a drainage aiontr the terrace for th purpose of carrying the surface water to outlet channels at the end of the terrace. The channel is made with the broad bottom, so that the wster will flow off at a low Telocity. In making a terrace, the V-shaped steel ditcher lerraeer with the wide shovel on one side makes a better terrace than an ordinary plow, and does the work much quicker, easier and cheaper. In terraciner a field, the upper terrace should always be built first. If a lower terrace is built and there is not time to build the upper before a rain comes, then the lower will he hr.'lly washed and broken and labor lost. The ridee always ought to be tested with the -level, -to be ewe that it is hi?h enough. The work of laying off terraces should be done carefully, preferably by 'an experienced man. The best instruments are the farmer's small telescopic level and the er.sine'-' 1- o o.-untry is ourelv an inspiration tn the spriup of the ytar . A goodly number of members of the Woman'!.
