April 17 Kailroa-1 officials and brotherhood chiefs lKrt confidently expect a complete end'ng of the switchmen s strike in the Chicago district within the next sixty hours, they declared today. They based this hope not only on the action by the fedral authorities in arresting the strike leader. and the gradual restoration of freight traffic despite the strike, but also on what apparently is a changed attitude on the part of John Grunau and other strike leaders. The latter appesred optimistic concerning a settlement of the strike for th" first time since the the walkout began.
