McCRAY The Logical Candidate ForBovernoroi Indiana

t) .4 't A&1?'A j v 4

i : w

"WARREN T. McCRAY of Kentland, Indiana. lie is seeking the Republican nomination for governor at the primary, May 4, on a ciearly defined platform. In his keynote speech recently at Ft. Wayne, he made tha following reference to the new tax law: "1 pledge myself that if I arr elected Governor that at ths f.rst opportunity I will use my influence to torrcct and amend such sections of the present law as may be proved by practical test and actual experience to be impracticable, unsatisfactory and unbusinesslike. Whatever amendments are made to the tax lav should be made by Republicans instead cf submitting it to the mercies of those who are opposed to progressive tax legislation in Indiana." Mr. McCray favors the budget system cf making appropriations for the state government. lie favors liberal salaries for school teachers and sufficient appropriations for educational purposes. He stands for economy in conduct cf public affairs and for a thorough, business-like administration. His pledge that, he will render faithful and efficient service is guaranteed by his record as a successful farmer, business man and banker and as a public-spirited citizen with no entangling alliances of any kind to embarass him in any way. lie says: "J am seeking tbe nomination for Governor on my own Initiative, and if I am nominated and elected, I will assume the dut;ea of the office unhampered by any promises other than the promise to give the people of Indiana a clean, efficient business administration." Republicans Bear these facts in mind in considering Mr. McC.ray: He is the logical candidate. It will be easy to "WIN WITH WARRHT This Year
