Stone, of No. Fellcwood avenue, this city, has i:i h;s possession a postcard picture which was the prop erty of semie A:i:etican soldier killed in the Meuw-Argonne offensive in November. 191 S. He obtained the picture from a German soldier on tile day of the signing of the armistice. The German stated that he had taken if from the body of an American as it was being buried. The bodies of Mr?, l.ula Johnson, twenty-six. and her dauchter Gertrude, aged three, who died as the result of a gasoline explosion at the Johnson home recently were buried in th same casket at the request of the mother. The deaths of the mother and small daughter occurred withm a few hours of each other.

Gary city council, The -Platoon " system is a schedule whereby the men work a shift of 24 hours and are then off duty for 24 hours By the old schedule the firemen worked four days straight and were oft one day.
