The Old Settler's picnic given at the high school auditorium on Wednesday evening, was productive of bringing cut almost two hundred of the old timers. Mrs. F. Davidson. An investigation showed that Mrs. Augu;rta Kggers was the oldest Whiting resident present, having lived here for ilfty-three years and had the honor of telling the first Whiting story. Mrs. Augu.-;a KIoso and Mr. William Vater next vied for honors, both having reaided here for fifty-two years. Both told of early days in Whiting, after which the stories were discontinued until the next get-to-gethcr meeting.
