The second biggest gusher in the McKeesport field came in yesterday in the Pitts No. 2, the flow of which was estimated at more than '0,000,000 feet at 6 o'clock last night, soon after the well had been vnr.ected to the lines of the Peoples Gas Company. Excitement ran high around the well after the news spread that ! ttts No. 2 had come in and a large crowd watched with keen interest ! h work of the drillers and gas company men as they hurried to make fe the connections from the well to the mains and prevent accidents t;ii! ir to what had occurred at other wells in the field. Among the interested spectators at the birth of the well was ex- ; cngressman James Francis Burke, of Pittsburgh, who was loud in his 1 aise of the McKeesport gas field. Mr. Burke staled to a Journal man that he was sincere in his belief that the local field excelled by far any field ever discovered and

i edicted that it? greatness would not be realized for a long time. He ud that if a sinii.br held was discovered in any other part of the count.y special trains would be necessary to haul the crowds to see it, but i V peoplo oi Pittsburgh and vicinity are so accustomed to big things V -:-;.- do not get excited. M. Burke has a particular interest in oil and gas. He was born i'hin sight of the Drake farm in Venango county, Pennsylvania, the i.-jinal and greatest c:l he'd in the world, and has visited oil and gas I.r'ds everywhere. Mr. Burke say 3 the people of this district do not realize what a ' '.ideful thing we have right here in our yards. The Greatest Gas -; Ad in the World. . " A score ot newspaper photographers, movie men and amateur ! dakers were present at the coming in of the Pitts No. 2. AH anxious i r something to happen to give them a subject. Contractor John A. Sr;ee, who brought in the well, was as happy - a child with a r.ew toy over his success in bringing in a well that ' ows such tremendous force. Pais 13 Mr. Snee's second well for Mr. Pitts. All the drillers and employees at Pitts No. 2 recalled that Mr. Pitts presented each of the men at his No. I well a suit of clothing and a hat aad are confident he will repeat at the No. 2 ; especially since it is much N?ger.
