Works yesterday and reported that although the South Shore track has been cleared for four hours on Sunday and the president of the street car company had been notified the company had refused to run a car to the Indiana Harbor end of the line. The Construction company planned to replace the pumps until Tuesday when additional pipo would permit of permanently clearing the tracks but ttio street car company refused to place a car on the Indiana Harbor end of the line unless they were assured they could get back to the . ening. Arrangements are now. being made for resumption of street car traffic within a day or so. The tlnal assessment for the Canal Street Impioement was approved at $29,414.85. A .resolution confirming the vacation of certain parts of Alder Street was approved. The Northern Indiana Gas and Electric company was given pertnlxsion to plac a lamp at 142nd and Ivy streets.
