world tomorrow will be the Georgia
Tech-Pittsburgh game at Pittsburgh.
While ths defeat o? the Panthers last Saturday by Syracuse has taken eome
of the interest away from tomorrow's
clash it still Is the leadins game of the
day. Pittsburgh supporters, while down
!cst over the beating Warner's team got
at Syracuse, still think the Panthers are capable of beating the Georgia
eleven. The Panthers will be favorites In Pittsburgh at least when they enter th game. Princeton takes on Colgate and considerable doubt has been expressed as to whether the Tigers will be able to yet by with a victory. Colgate rooters are going to Princeton in force and confidently believe the Hamilton will twist the Tiger's tail. Tale is to play Tufts and while they
are not expecting an easy battle, the
blue warriors: don't think they will catch
such a Tartir as they did last Saturday when Boston upst 'he dope and
beat them.

NORTHWEST CHAMPS ARE BRILLIANT
By, ntvrr?o cxA-mxr. For the first time since Hammond has been represented in professional football will a Minnesota team be Its opponent when the Minneapolis Marines clash with Parduhn's stars at the Cub park Sunday. The contest promises to be one of th best this season and should be full of action, for the Marines are touted as being the best In the history of the Flour City. The Marines have a line and backfleld that will offer stiff resistance, but the visitors base their chances for victory on the old Gopher shift plays which It Is said is the most puzzling in any gridiron game. The forward pass will probably come In for its share, but as the aerial game is often effective on slowteams the Marines will have to resort to something else in order to win. All this week Hammond has kept hard at work. Much of the time has been spent in signal drills and in teaching the backfield a few straight football plays which were at one time uxerj to success by Harvard against old Ell. The rest of the time has been devoted In preparation for the Marine contest. Coach King, in a lecture to the players last night, laid stress to the fact that the Marines will face Hammond with an unbroken chain of victories accumulated through five years of play, and that the visitors arc confident that they will win. It is no secret to let out. added King, that Sunday's scrap nifans that the eleven either rises or falls. We can't lose, seems to be the thought of every player, and if the past week's workout is to be taken into consideration, one must add that a decided improvement has been noticeable in the plainp of every man on the $20,000 cHtb. The tram as a whole lacks but one thing. P.'.rduhn Is badly in need of a drop ',.!. ker. but so fur has been unFuccesful cither In developing one or being tilde to buy some star who can kick when a thre" pointer is needed. It is rumored around sporting circles that Mathys, the wonder kicker, of this year's Indiana team, will leave school and play with Hammond. It was Mathys' toe that has kept the Crimson in the lime light this ear. Mathys was discovered by fullback Howard, who now fs with Hammond, and it is suil that rather than play with a losing lean'. Mathys will, play professional f otbali.
