MISCELLANEOUS RECIPES TOMATO PILAFF CKop two onions and fry in butter. Press through a sieve four tomatoes, add one cup of milk and the onions. Bring to boiling point. Add one pound of rice and simmer until tomato is absorbed. Add three tablespoons of olive oil. Season with salt and cayenne aad servo hot. TOMATOES AND PEPPERS Shred six green peppers and slice five tomatoes. Fry in olive oil until m golden brown and serve on toast. SALMON LOAF Light the erven of your gas range before beginning to maka the loaf and have tha baking tin not too deep. Open a can of salmon, free it from the skin and bones and chop finely. Mix with it two well beaten eggs, one cupful of fine bread crumbs, one tablespoonful of lemon juice, one tablespoonful of chopped parsley, salt and paprika to tste and one tablespoonful of melted butter. Press into a greased tin and bake m a quick oven for twenty minutes. CANDIED PEACHES Slice them thin and bod tmtSl clear in a syrup made with half their weight in sugar. Lay on dishes in the sun and turn them until dry. Pack in jars with powdered sugar over each layer. They are very nice if made with pure honey instead of sugas.

Make a syrup of 2 cups sugar to cup water and when boiling briskly, add fruit and cook until tender (from 30 to 45 minutes). Put in sterilized jars and seal. CORN BREAD WITH SOUR MILK Sift a cupful of corn meal, half m cupful Hour, half teaspoon salt, one
tablespoon sugar. Rub in a tablo- El spoonful shortening, add a cupful sour milk, a beaten egg. Last add one half teaspoon soda. Bake in shallow pan in readers to oven. ; CUP CAKES, BLACKBERRY SAUCE

FLOATING ELAND One croart milk, four eggs, yolks and whites beaten separately: four tablespoonfuls sugar, two teaspoons vanilla or bitter alraonds. one-half cup currant jelly. Heat milk to scalding in double boiled. Beat yolks, stir them into sugar, pour upon them gradually, mixing well, a cup of hot milk. Return to double boiler and boil until it begins to thicken. When cool, flavor and pour into glass dish; make meringue of whites whipped until you can cut it. Drop by tablespoon on top of the custard and put small piece of jelly in center of each island.
