EAST CHICAGO BOARD WILL SETTLE STREET CAR MATTER MONDAY The East Chicago Board of Public Works will meet with the representatives of the Hammond. Whiting and Fast Chicago Street car company, this evening for the purpose of discussing the new franchise which has been already drawn up by City Attorney M. E. Crites. The terms of the .franchise are expected to he agreed upon at this mc ting and the copies of the. franchise, will be submitted to the numbers of the city council. The Board of Public Works will take action upon the franchise next Monday morning and the document will then go to the city council the same evening for ratification. The regular weekly meeting of the Board was held today instead of yesterday because yesterday being a holiday. HARBOR CIVIC CLUB TO MEET WEDNESDAYS The directors of the Indiana Harbor Civic Club at their nueting last night voted to change their regular meeting night from the second to fourth Mondays to the second and fourth Wednesdays In order to conform better to the change of banking hours. The secretary was Instructed to obtain a copy of the Cummins Railroad bill so that the club may act intelligently and Instruct the congressmen acordiftly. The leaders tn the membership campaign will meet next Friday night to make arrangements for completing their campaign which has been somewhat demoralized by tha eteel strike.
