Cardiff Castle in Wales and the Marchioness of Bute.
It has been an odd instance of the past that the Prince of Wales has at no time had a place of his own in Wales, but it is believed that CardilT Castle, this master piece of the blending of the ancient and modern, will be purchased for this purpose It .is ownsd by the Marauis of Bute, Tvho is not very fond of his inheritance. Commenced a few years after the Norman conquest, Cardiff Castle was completed about 1100 A, D. It was
originally much like Kenilworth, but had been sacked by Cromwell. When it passed into po.'pesion' of Lord Bute's family, it was perfectly restored, with modern improvements and ftTnishinpi. The prince visited Cardiff Castle before leaving for America. The Marchioness of Bute proved a charming hostess. She was known before her marriage a.-t Augusta Mary, the daughter of Sir H.
