de MsrchJenne mnd wife aippH ob New York. Mr. Jackson in his formal announce ment took the stand that a candidate should not announce a personal platform but should pledge himself to carry out whatever provisions his party sees fit to make in its platform. Mr. Bush, on the other hand, comes out with a strong personal platform, opposing the present administration for what he terms its tendency toward "centralization." Mr. McCray has simply announced that he will be a candidate nn has made no indication of the stand he. will take. Mr. Jackson was elected secretary of state in 1316 on the same ticket with Gov. Goodrich. When the United Stat- s declared war on Germany he resigned and enlisted in an officers' training camp at Ft. Benjamin Harrison. He left the service a major. He Is the only soldHr candidate being jcr'ously considered. A peculiar feature of the race is that Mr. McCray and Mr. Jackson both live In the Tenth district. Better call up The Times and have it sent to your house every night. Then you'll be sure it will be there.
