upon his or her lap, any handbag or any parcel that om be carried on the lap, without inconvenience to their pas-stng-er.s. Children under fix years of age. accompanied by a person paying fare, whall ride free. All trunks, boxss, or other articles carried upon the seat, platform or floor of sny car. may be 1 arriod at the option of said Railway Company, its successors - and assigns, upon such terms and conditions as it may prescribe. It i hereby mutually agreed between the City of Hammond and the said Hammond. Whiting & East Chicago Railway Company, that said Railway Company, its successors and assigns, shall charge a fare not in excess of seven (7) cents for transportation for each passenger over six tt years of age. for any regular, continuous trip in either direction upon any or all of its lines from any point to another in said City of Hammond, and a transfer shall be given to complete the trip upon the first connecting vr only. Provided said Company shall have the right to route its paengers by the most direot line between points in said City. A second transfer shall be issued, if necessary to complete a passenger's trip, but in no event shall mora than two transfers be issued fr any one cash fare.
