Grace Hughes and mother of Hammond were visitors in Lansing last Thursday. Mrs. Mary Schultz made a call on Mr. Max Koselke Thursday, who has undergone an operation and Is getting along fine. Joseph Kasper, accused of grand larceny, by Joe Kendra was found guilty In the city court and was dismissed. Kendra accused Kasper of taking a boat which belonged to him. but Kasper proved to th saityfaction of the court that he was innocent of the charge. Mrs. John C. Childs, has arrived here from Boston to Join her husband Mr. John Childs. cf Whiting, to whom she was married in Boston two months ago. The wedding is the culmination of - war time romance the couple having met while the groom was in training at Camp Devans, Mass., near Boston. Mr. John McNeill of Afhison avenue. Whiting, who has been director of the M. K. Choir at Whiting for several years, hf.s resigned to accept an offer tendered him to direct the choir of the Presbyterinn church in Hammond. Mr. McNeill 1s known all over the region for his vocal ability and we bespeak for him much success in his new charge, in directing the Hammond church choir, which Is known to contain several excellently trained voices.
