In the evening the two couple left for points in Michigan and upon their return Mr. and Mrs. McNeill will reside with the lattcr-s parents, at 1342 Roberts avenue. Mr. and Mrs. James McGinnis, nee Miss Florence Moylan, are home from their honeymoon trip to Detroit, and other points. They are residing at the home of the bride's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Moylan In New York avenue. The Owl Club picnic at Cedar Lake was a big success, being attended by over one hundred. The trip was made in autos the day which in the morning, looked discouraging, turning out to be an ideal one. The afternoon was spent in boating, a baseball game. In which the married mea defeated the single men, 6 to 1, and a number of Interesting races. The bounteous chicken dinner served at Binyon's was thoroughly enjoyedand in the evening dancing was indulged in for several hours. Miss Ruth Gladden entertaied 24 girls at an announcement party at her home in Sheridan avenue on Thursday evening. At the party Miss Gladden's engagement to John Sharp, also of Whiting was mada known to her friends, she possessing a beautiful platinum engagement ring. Surprises came thick and fast for Miss Gladden, also announced for the first time, the news of the marriage of Miss Mildred Schell and Milton Collins, which took place at Chicago, on July 19th, but which has been previously kept A secret. Five hundred was the feature of the evening, being played at the home of Miss Gladden's sister. Mrs. Ralph White, in Oliver 6treet. honors being awarded to Miss Luclle Doegling and Miss Marion Walker. Following the cards the guests repaired again to the house of Miss Gladden where a two course luncheon was served. The decorations were very pretty in lavender and green, the announcements being made by means of an envelope wired to a lavender aster which held a card containing the information . Edward Demllong.
