"From the standpoint of co-operation and gentlemanly spirit, the contractors feel that they are entitled to a square deal, together with reasonable consideration, in a matter which is of vital interest to them as well as yourself: as if there can be no understanding which will be lasting for a reasonable length of time, you will certainly appreciate that r.o contractor could estimate work under these conditions. "Furthermore, the official notice of the. increase was only given to the individual contractors and . this associa tion approximately eight days before going into effect which notice, you will certainly agree, in all fairness was not j sufficient Please remember that the contractor rrakes his money working the same as you, only he spends a great many more hours at it. and with the ; unsettled condition that is not prevailing. it is vitally necessary that sober !
