Hammond, Ind., July 23. Sporting Editor Times: Just a few lines to protest against the brand of ball games and mediocre teams and players the management of the home team are furnishing the fans. That 4th of July game and the Galligan game made the fans disgusted and now comes the Gen. American team for Sunday. The rest of the league teams are not playing scrub teams and why do we fans have to put up with it. If Mgr. Nagel wants Pitcher Baichley to redeem himself with the fans why not get a good team here and let him pitch for the home team. If the management is going to play cheap ball let them cut the prices. The fans are not demanding cheap ball. If they keep furnishing any more such games the fans will resent it by their absence form the games. This is the sentiment of dozens of steady every-game fans I have talked with. Respectfully, J. W. DUNLAP.
