This means more demand for lots on which to build those homes. The land suitable for homesis limited. Go into any real estate office and study the city map. You will be astounded to notice how" much land is taken up by the big plants and railroads, leaving very, very little that is suitable for homes close to the center of thing3. Nine years ago the owner of the lot just south of the court house let it go for a mortgage of $3,200, although he was amply able to pay for it! lie thought the lot would never be worth the mortgage. Last week the lot sold for $29,000 cash to the keenest" business man in HAMMOND. He expects to double his money. Same is true all over the citv.
