Army Balloons Drop to Earth

UNTERNATIONAL NEWS SEKVICE1 OMAHA. Neb.. July 15. Four army balloons that started from Fort Omaha Sundar in order to set new height ami distance records, are awaiting repairs today at various points in Iowa and Wisconsin. All four were brought t" earth by the severe storm which swept the urper Mississippi valley yesterday and they were severely buffetted. One of the balloons landed at Raleigh. Iowa. 223 miles from here: another at Portage, "Wis., 4fn miles away: another at Green. Iowa. 230 miles away, and the fourth at Ringstead. Iowa, about 200 ni!eg northeast of Omahi. No new reeords were established and the aeronauts are regarded as fortunate in being able to land safely after their all-night battle with the storm.
