NEW SCHOOL HEAD REACHES HAMMOND IContlnued from pag-e one.) ary line Superintendent Monroe demanded efficient teaching and perhaps it Is not too much to say that Muskogee teaching efficiency, beginning first and constantly improved by the cigi'ance of a consumate teaching master, is th equal of any city of America. Muskogee was the first city to introduce deep and broad supervision. Ardmore in the early day probably the only city keeping step with it. Music, art. physical culture, manual training, domestic art and science, writing and primary, all received expert supervision in the Muskoge schools from the earliest reriod. "After these two values were established then came quickly the conquest of his city, the attention and respect of the state and finally the favor of the best school men in America. Every student activity, supervised play and games, debating, folk dancing, glee club organizations, music in all forms, dramatics.

Postmasteer General Burleson to Affirm or Deny the Story.

f INTERNATIONAL NEWS SERVICE 1 WASHINGTON. July .8 Postmaster-

General Burleson refused today clthtri to confirm or deny a report that his resignation would be placed in the hands of President Wilson when the latter arrives in Washington tonight. The postmaster-general denied himself to press representatives, sending out j word that he would not discuss the: matter. His refusal to dany the report I led to the general belief in official cir- I cles here that his resignation has been

prepared and was awaiting the president. Burleson has been under incessant fire ever since the wire systems of the country were, taken over by the government as a war measure and their administration placed in the hands of the post office department. Charges that he had "wrecked" these systems were made on many occasions from the floor of both houses of congress, and demands for his resignation have been

repeatedly oiced by not only senators and representatives, but by various labor organizations as well. In some quarters a consistent campaign, aimed to bring about his resignation, has been waged. Burleson, a native of Texas, was appointed to the postmaster-general ship on March 4. 1311. the nomination being confirmed the following day. Previl ously he had served as a member of the 56th to the 63rd congresses Inclusive. V
