Word that the British dirigible R-34 has started on its attempt to cross the Atlantic ocean to America from- England is expected hourly. The giant dirigible is ready for the flight. According to recent reports the big ship may attempt to fly to the U. S. and

back without landing in this country, as it can cs-ry enough supplies to make the round trip. This type of dirigible originally was designed for bomb'ng German cities. One interesting feature of the construction of the ship is a passageway through the gas bag

by which the members of the crew can go from one of the suspended "gondolas" to another. A ladder leads up to the passageway frcm each bag. The ladder can be seen in the pboto of one of the gondolas. The crew of the ship totals thirty-three men.

Mies Marjoria Johnson entertained a party of her young friends on Monday afternoon in honor of her birthday anniversary. "William Ha&g and -wife and children, of Chicago, spent Sunday in Crown Point with their mother and sister. The many friends of Mrs. Grace Young were shocked beyond measure to hear of her death on Monday afternoon. Mrs. Toung has been in poor health for several years suffering from heart trouble but her death was wholly unexpected. She was the wife of Joserh Toung. who survives her. also two children. Dorothy of this city and Ralrh of Michigan. She was forty-nine years of age and has spent all of her life In Crown Point. Her parents, the Haywoods. were early settlers of Lake county. No funeral arrangements have been made. Adam Keeder and daughter Lillie and Miss Maggie Raschtr have returned from Schererville. where they visited friends. The Lady Foresters had a Pot Luck supper at the Fair Grounds on Monday night and a most delightful evening was spent. Mrs. Wells Aainsworth came on Satur
