Mrs. Helen C Waterman. People of Brooklj-n, New York, are following with interest the case of Mrs. Helen C. Waterman of that city who accused John E. Carey of 17 Livingston place, Manhattan, of having broken into her home at midnight 6nd carrying her off in a taxicab. And that was not the worst of it. She claims that she was not given time to change from her sleeping garments tc suitable attire for an evening taxi ride. Carey is a manufacturer of urgical instruments, lie will be tried on an abduction charge.

The death of Mrs. Charles Kwasny of 4S34 Magoun avenue. East Chicago, occurred yesterday at the Mercy hospital, in Gary, where she had been :alcen a few weeks previous to undergo an operation for a malignant
growth on her face and which resulted.

Their wedding was one of the most ostentious that ever took place from St. Stanislaus with the bride having a full retinue of attendants and hundreds of people In celebration at the event. The other children lert to mourn the loss of a good mother are: Walter, Alex, the latter Just home from military service, Edward, a small son, and the bereaved husband. GARY MAN IS RELEASED BY GOVERNOR
TJMES BUREAU AT STATE CAPITAL1 INDIANAPOLIS. Ind.. June 24 Governor Goodrich has extended executive clemency to John Vardaman of Gary and V. Pitcher of Fayette County. Vardaman was sentenced in the Gary
page city court April 21 ftr violating the liiuor law and was sentenced to the stale
farm for thirty days and fined $50. Ha is said to have a wife and seven children who need his support. The Gary juds who sentenced him recommended to thj governor that the man be released. WIFE IN RErOHM, SCHOOL. IMtcher was sentenced in the Fayetta circuit court March 6 on a charge of contributing to delinquency and was sentenced to the state farm Tor sixty days and fined $50 and costs.
