"None of us are spooting Pempsey. AVe recognize in him a first class fighter and I guess that boy can hurt when he hits. too. But he must hit Jess to hurt him and hitting the b;s
fellow is the job that I Dempsey can handle. Oh,
pears like a mark for "Willard's three best punches a straight left, a right cross and an urpercut with either hand. "Dempsey's open style, with head down, seems to be just made for uppercuts of the kind that Jess specializes in. If Jess hooks Jack with one of them, propelled with all the force of his great body, it will be good night for Dempsey right there and then. Xo man ever stood under one and I don't figure that Dempscy can prove the exception."

JIanager Xagel succeeded in bookingone of the best attractions of the season when he scheduled the Aristos, famous traveling team for next Sunday. This club is undpr the able lealer?Ti?p of Jack Ness, formerly the star first baseman fith the Chicago "White Sox. Only last Sunday the Aristos showed their class by downing "Rrd" Ormsby's Shcehans, who are considered one of the best home teams in the Chicago league. Conlin, the Aristos pitcher, had the hard hitting Sheehans eating out of his hand, striking out 8 men and keeping their hits well scattered. Being a left-hander, Conlin promises-to give the Hammond outfielders, all left hand hitters, plenty of trouble. In fact he informed Manager Nagel at Monday night's meeting that if Ness and a few more of the heavy hitters on his club will go out and get him a few scores he will give Buckeye and the Hammond team their first taste of defeat. Aside from Jack Ness and Conlin there are several other stars on the club, the best known being "Ernie" Johnson, at one time shortstop for the St. Louis Americans and "Swede" Olson", who plays centerfleld and is considered
some hitter.. Dobbins.
