recipient of a surprise rartjf by his friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. "". Horn in the Herod apartments, last evening and where several friends of this city and Michigan City were present. The evening was maxie ideally pleasant with social intercourse and music and with the serving of cool refreshments. From Michigan City there came the Howard Blaekburns and their son. Howard Jr., Miss Mabel Robinson and the Messers Ulen Farber. Charles Crouth and Carl Miller. Those from this city were Miss Beatrice Cadman. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Morgan. Mrs. Jennie McKay and Miss Helen McKay. Amelia Klemm. youngest daughter of the Henry Klemms of South Baring ave.. is leaving at the close of the school term for Sawyer. Mich., the home of her grandmother onthe maternal side, and will spend the summer there. She wftl be accompanied by her father on the trip and whn it is time to return her mother will go for her. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Perry, of Fir St.. are making preparations to soon leave for their annual boat trip to Michigan, where Mrs. Perry will stay the greater part of the summer and Mr. Perry will take his accustomed acation for a few weeks and then will return to his duties as superintendent of the boiler department of the Inland Steel Mill. Friday of this week will be the twenty-fifth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. James O'Toole of Northcote ave., well known residents of this city, and who had hoped to celebrate this event with a housewarming in their new home which Is under construction in Northcote ave. and which wiy not be ready for occupancy until about August 1st, so instead a few intimate friends of Mrs. OToole will gather at their home in the evening of the 50th and spend the time socially. It Is evident that the housewarnjing will occur at a later date.
