Storer entertained thirtysix ladies at a one o'clock luncheon at her home in LaPorte avenue on Wednesday afternoon. The decoration which were very effective, were In pink, white end lavender. Mrs. Louis Jensen t-s tendered a delightful surprise linen shower by a number of h rWhiting friends in honor of her marriage, which occurred Saturday. Mrs. Jensen was formerly Miss Eleanor Smintz. The guests spent an enjoyable social time and at the close of the evening a prettily appointed luncheon was served. The bride was the recipient of a number of useful and valuable gins.

Griffith has been enjoying splendid rain every day, much to the happiness cf trc truck farmers. The Jance Wednesday evening was well attended in spite of the rain. Mr. and Mrs. Charley White are leaving Griffith in two weeks to make their future ehome- at Culver, Ind. Their place having been sold to an out-of-town party. Quite a number of Lady Alders from here attended the monthly tea held at Merrillville on Wednesday afternoon.
