Slab King Shooting Them Over Pete Henning's Wing Just As Good in France, As it Was in Hammond.

"What do you know about old Fete Henninjr. boys? You remember Pete, don't you the old heaver who used to make visiting teams seasick at the Hammond ball park? Gib Ttoss. of Crown Point, one of Tete's staunch friends, sends us the following clipping from the American Embarkation Xows at I.e Mans. France, and it shows that Pete can shoot 'cm over just as well In France as in Hammond: "While announcement of ths standing: of the teams of the- A. E. C. league will not be given out until the latter part of tho week several games have already been played, the Belgian Camp winning from the Forwarding Camp, Wednesday by a score of 2 to 0, the Classification winning from Camp Etat. 3 to 0. nnd the Spur Camp taking a pama from the Posta Clerks to the tune of 8 to 2. "The Forwarding Camp and the Belgians put up a hard fought contest, and some excellent playing was staged. Pete Henning. Belgian Camp, allowed enly two hfts, and has pitched thirtyfour consecutiie Innings without being score on. "The Spur Camp team put up a good exhibition, Johnson pitching in good form, and playing a tight game throughout. Tho Mailmen played good ball, but were unable to find the sphere, getting two lonely hits. "The. Classification camp w&s iven their game with the Railroaders on a forfeit, tho latter failing to show up to play. "Games for today are as follows: "Belgian vs. 131st Engineers. "Class vs. Forwarding. FLYER GETS 10 SEC. FLAT

SPECIAL TO THE TIMES . GALES BURG, 111., May IS. Aleck Fwhind. of 307 Erie street, Hammond, the track phenom, who two years ago startled Lake- county by breaking two records of ten years standing in the 100 yard dash and the quarter, setting a mark in the latter better than the present state record, has again come into his own. Saturday, while running for Knox College, his alma mater, he continued his career as a record-smasher and placed himself in the frcnt rank as a track man. The watcher caught him at 10 flat in the 100 yard dash and 5:13 In the quarter. Lake county should be proud to have produced such a speed demon. And only a freshman at college at that. He has fully justified any pride his high school has taken In him in, the past.

If we say that our clothes are distinctive, we say the same thing that thousands of other clothiers have said. It is a word that is much overwrought and in most cases means nothing. But we mean a lot when we say that Kuppenheimer Clothes are "distinctive." We mean that they have elements of style, definite refinements of tailoring and precise fabric qualities that distininguish them from other clothes characteristics that set precedence for clothing value.

Kuppenheimer have those distinctive
