Practically the same conditions exist in Nebraska, the 'Dakotas, Wisconsin and Minnesota, which show labor supply and demand in industrial centers on an even keel but a growing demand for farm labor. Indurtial relations in Chicago are acute, but owing to the transient soldiers and sailors no definite estimate of unemployment was given. A big demand for farm labor was opened by Kansas. The mystery of th disappearance of JliO in Liberty bonds from 4915 Homer Lee tv, Kaat Chicago, hae been solved. It cleared up ieaterday when the Chicago polite department called East Chicago and advised that a fourteen-year-old lad by tha name of Joe Tlss had been arrested, on data furnished by hia father, and was being held subject to orders. It aaemn that Joe' disappearance from home waa exactly co-ordinate with tha dlaappearance of the $150 worth of bonds, one $100 bond and one $50 bond. Pittswas without street car service today. The 3.500 conductors and motormen of the Pittsburgh Street Car Company went on strike at midnight, tieing up the entire system. Anticipating a walkout of the men the several railroads entering the city prepared to operate ahuttle trains' and thousands of workers made us of them this morning. Other thousands walked to work. The men are demanding a tweHe cent an hour increase in wages and requested that the question be given to the war labor beard for arbitration.
