"I am opposed to the United States entering into any kind of alliance with any foreign nation." Borah declared, with an emphasis that permitted no doubt as to his leaning. "How Is an 'unprovoked attack" on France by Germany to be determined," Borah inquired. "How is it to be determined when an instantaneous attack of one nation upon another is unprovoked? I believe that the American peope are capable of deciding, when the time arrives for them to do so, when they shall go to the assistance of France, without the senate being asked to commit them to an "entangling alliance." MUCH INTEREST IN MILK EXHIBIT IN HAMMOND The people cf Hammond are showing much interest in the educational food exhibit as shown at the Lion Store window. There Is opportunity of much food for thought, and we again urge every one to see it. Practically one-t.ixth of all the food we eat comes from milk, and when we realize its low cost and high food value we can readily see the importance of using more. See the exhiblfs and make a careful study of it. Try having milk and other dairy products replace some portions of meat and other foods at each meal. Results will prove healthful and economical.

SAYS TREATY IS FULL OF LOOPHOLES T INTERNATIONAL NEWS SERVICE1 LONDON. May 8. "If the summary of the peace treaty, as made public, represents the text it looks good on paper on the military and naval side, but is dangerously full of loopholes on tho financial end," said the Dally Mall today in commenting upon the terms. "The real security of the treaty's execution rests with the League of Nations and above all else the continuation of the close union between Great Brltlan and the United States." The destruction of Prusslanlsm must be unlimited throughout Germany," said the Evening News. "The disarmament of Germany is the preliminary to disarmament of all nations."
