The new U. S. tropedo boat destroyer Crane is speedir.c throuph the water from San D;e?o Cal., to New York in an effort to reach New York before the Victiry Loan drive Roes over. The destroyer flies the Navy V ictory Loan

pennant. The o!d cruiser Marblelitnd started to carry the flag from San Francisco but the loai. was outpacing: her. She put in at San Diceto and transferred the flae to the Crane. The Crane is following the Panama Canai route.

The navy hopes that she will reach New York in time to help the loan over the top by turning over the Navy Loan flap to be auo itoned off to Victory bond purchasers in the closinir days of the campaign.
