The City Controller, upon the payment to him of the fee mentioned in the foregoing" section, shall issue for each vehicle licensed, a metal plate not more thsn eight (8) inches in width and six (6) inches in height- There shall be indicated on said plate, in letters and figure the class to which such vehicle belongs and th year of th issuing of the license therefor. Such plate shall be placed by the licensee on the outside of said vehicle, on th right hand side thereof, in such a position that the same is not in any way covered by any part of Baid vehicle or its equipment, and the same shall be kept on such vehicle during tha year for which the same was issued. It shall be unlawful to use any such vehicle on th streets, alleys or other public places in said City of Hammond, unless such plate is attached therto. Every person, firm' or corporation desiring to obtain a license, as before mentioned, shall make application in writing to th City Controller, in which application there shall be set forth the name of the applicant; the name and address of the owner of th vehicle; the maximum number of passengers that can be reasonably carried therein, if used for carriage of passengers, and the capacity in pounds, if vised for carriage of freights; the character of said vehicle and TJi purpose or us for, which it is intended and whether horse rirawn. motor driven, pulled or pushed by human power or in what manner operated, the number" of license Issued by th Stat of Indiana, if any.
