Ind., national president of tho Order of Owls, was lined $200 and costs by Judge A- PAnderson In the federal court here today, for publishing an article held by the federal grand jury Indictment to have been of a character "tending to incite murder and assassination " Evidence In the hands of U. S. Dlst. Atty. Slack shows that Talbott, .as secretary of the Game. Bird Society, endeavored to curtail the activities of E. A. Quarles. an organirer of the Game Breeders Society, which has headquarters at 233 Broadway, X. Y. Threatening letters were written to friends of Quarles, it is said. Finally, the government says. Talbott took the fight into the columns of The Owl. the national organ of the Order of Owls. The article which led to the indictment was. written by Talbott and published April 25. 1915, accXIinj to the indictment brought by the May, 19 IS. federal grand jury.
