The public service commission of Indiana held a hearing yesterday nt the Chamber of Commerce rooms. Ei Chicago, on th" petition of th. Lake Shore and South Rend 'i.a.i vay company to ,,ere;lse their fares betwei points in Indiana from 2H cents t.er mile to :i cents per mile. Chairman Charles A. Edwards of the commission presided, and testimony was;
l given by C. X. Wileoxson. president of S ' lie? road, and by their lud.tor. The ! commission, however, lad before it an
exhaustive) report on the company made by their own auditor and their findings, will he based largely on that report. The. company was represented by J. A. Louis Meyer, attorney. South Rend. East Chicago and Indiana HirbH- re represented by Attorney M. E. Criies and indirectly by a larse delegation from the Chamber of Commerce and Ci:c club. Neither Oary or Hammond wtre represented. The showing made by the report of the uudilor of the commission was such that ther will probably be no hesitation on the part of the commission to grant the request specified in the petition. If there had been any changes proposed in the comr :utai.ioii Isre.'; r in ta. t:n betuttn ;..e twu ei.ds t. Eai. Ciucaso there would hav been grave objections. But any such changes were not ineludeel in the petition. Tbose'fares will stand just as they are today even it the commission should find favorably upon the petition presented.

DAILY HEALTH TALKS What Doctor Pierce Has Done For Humanity I . CT DOCTOR CRIPPS. It has always seemed to me that Pr. Tierce, of Euffalo. X. T.. should be placed near the top when a list of America's great benefactors is written. He studied and conquered human diseases to a degree that few realize. Whenever he found a remedy that ovetcamc disease, he at once announeed it in the newspapers and told where it could be bought at a small price. He did not follow the usual ru.-tom of keeping the ingredients secret, so that the rich only ould aeord to buy the
medicine1, but openly printed the name of each root and herb be used. And pn t'f-day the name? of Dr. Pierce aid L's medicines are widely known, and they stand for better health and better citizenship. One of this great physician's most successful remedies is know" as Doctor Pierce's rieasant Pellets. These: are little- sugar-coated pills, composed of Mayapple, leaves of aloe, root of jalap things that Nature grows in th'e ground. These Pellets are sefe because they move the bowels gently, leaving no bad after-effects, s eo ninny pills dee Very often they make a person who takes them feel like a new tnai or woman, for they cleanse the intestines of hard, decayed and poisonous matter that aecumulates when one is costive. If you are constipated, by all means go to jour drugsrist and get some of Dr. Pi' rce Pleasant reliefs. They may prove to lie the very thing our system requires to make you well and happy. Adv.
