PHYSICALLY FIT AT ANY AGE It isn't age. it's careless living that puts men down and out." Keep your internal organs in good condition and you will always be physically fit. Watch tho kidneys. The kidneys are the most overworked organs in the human body. When they break down under the strain and the deadly uric acid accumulates and crystalizes. look out! These sharp crystals tear and scratch the delicate urinary channels causing excruciating pain and set up irritations which may cause premature degeneration and often do turn
into dcndlv Bright' Disease. -V One of the first warnings or sluggish kidnev action is pain or stiffness in the small" of the back, high colored or scanty urine, loss of appetite, inidgestion or rneumatism. Ix not wait until the danger i upon you. At the first indication of trouble go after the cause at once. Go to your druggist immediately. Mothers can rest easy after giving "California Syrup of Figs." because in a few hours all the clogged-up waste, sour bile and fermenting food gently moves out of the bowels, and you have a well, playqful child again. Children simply will not take the time from play to empty their bowels, and they become tightly packed, liver gets sluggish and stomach disordered. When cross, feverish, restless, see if tongue is coated, then give this dellcl-
ous "fruit laxative." Children love it.
and it can not cause Injury. No dlffrerence what ails your little one if full of cold, or a sore throat, diarrhoea, stomachache, bad breath, remember, a gentle "inside cleansing" should always be the first treatment given. Full directions for babies, children of all ages
, and grown-ups are printed on each bot- , tie.
Beware of counterfeit fig syrups. Ask your druggist for a 60-cent bottle of "California Syrup of Figs." then look carefully and see that It is made by the "California Fig Syrup Company." We make no smaller size. Hand back with contempt any other fig syrup. Adv.
Wash yourself on the inside before
breakfast like you do on the outsii. This is vastly more important because the skin pores do not absorb Impurities into the blood, causing illness, while the bowel pores do. For every ounce of food and drink taken' into the stomach, nearly an ounce of waste material must be carried out of the body. If this waste material Is not eliminate day by day it quickly ferments and generates poisons, gases and toxins which are absorbed or sucked into the blood stream, through the lymph ducts which should suck only nourishment to sustain the body. A splendid health measure Is to rink, before breakfast each day, a glass of real hrt water with a teaspoonful of limestone phosphate in it. which is a harmless way to wash these poisons, gases and Ntoxlns from the stomach, liver, kidneys and bowels; thus cleansing, sweetening and freshening the entire alimentary canal before putting more food into the stomach. A quarter pound of limestone phosphate costs but very little at the drug store but is sufficient to make anyone an enthusiast on inside-bathing. Men and women who are accustomed to wake up with a dull, aching head or have furred tongue, bad taste, nasty breath, sallow complexion, others who have bilious attacks, acid stomach or constipation are assured of rronounced improvement In both health and appearance shortly. The Farmer Receives More Than Five Thousand Dollars a Minute From Swift & Company This amount is paid to the farmer for live stock, by Swift & Company alone, daring the trading hours of every business day. . , All this money is paid to the farmer through the open market in competition with large and small packers, shippers, speculators and dealers. The farmer, feeder, or shipper receives every cent of this money ($300,000 an hour, nearly $2,000,000 a day, $11,500,000 a week) in cash, on the spot, as soon as the stock he has just sold is weighed up. Some of the money paid to the farmer during a single day comes back to the company in a month from sale of products; much doe3 not come back for sixty or ninety days or more. But the next day Swift. & Company, to meet the demands made by its customers, must pay out another $2,000,000 or so, and at the present high price levels keeps over $250,000,000 continuously, tied up in goods on the way to market and in bills owed to the company. This gives an idea of the volume of the Swift & Company business, and the requirements of financing it. Only by doing a large business, can this company turn live stock into meat and by-products at the lowest possible cost, prevent waste, operate refrigerator cars, distribute to retailers in all parts of the country and be recompensed with a profit of only a fraction of a cent a pound a profit too small to have any noticeable effect on the price of meat or live stock.
