Soma social features of the gathering were eliminated -from the two-day prograrn. Nearly 1.000 lodge members have reported at headquarters in the Odd Fellow buildinjr. The report of W. H. Leedy. grand secretary of the order, shows the total net resources of the state organization to .be H.520.569.89. That report and those of other officers were read at this
morning's session. Thts evening the
lodge will meet In Tomlinaon hall for exemplification of degree work.
John B. Cockrum, rast grand sire of the grand encampment of Indiana Odd Fellows, gave a patriotic address at a
meeting of the encampment last night.

Community War Labor boards, in East Chicago. Gary and Hammond, upon whom has rested a large responsibility in connection with the distribution arid dilution of labor, during the war emergency, have received, personally nd individually the following message from the secretary of labor, William B. Wilson: "I sincerely trust that no member of the Community Labor boards will fall to appreciate that the cessation of hostilities brings new opportunities for ervice and imposes new and importsnt duties. The country now faces an obligation to return to suitable employment those it Induced to enter its service In the field and facurv. The well being of the people for many years to come depends largely upon the manner In
which that obligation will be fufllled, as well as the Indication of those principles of Justice which animated us In the pursuits of war. Community war labor hoards are best suited and equipped to help in the process of transition from war to peace. At no time have their services been more necessary. I confidently appeal to each member to continue serving until the last man from the army and war service has been placed in suitable employment. Hurh depends upon members of Community War Labor boards in the fuflllment of our task."

The concurrent resolution adopted unanimously by the house met with considerable opposition in the senate where on- the insistence of soma of the nvembers it was jeferred to the appropriation committee. Senator Martin, chairman, submitted a favorable report a few minutes later. The vote in favor of adjournment was 41 to 1$.

MIDWEST WOUNDED TO WEST BADEN WEST BADEN. Ind.. Nor. 21. The wounded soldiers whose bomes were In Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Missouri and Michigan returned to this country fj treatment, will be sent to the United States Army hospital here, unless their
injuries are of such a nature that
treatment which cannot be given at the local hospital is required. Announcement to that effect was made today by the officers of the medical corps now on duty here. Preparations are being made o accommodate irt0. patients. The first of wounded soldiers to be treated at the hospital recently opened at the famous West Baden Hotel arrived hre Saturday night.
