H0QS1ER FARMER FOR MOTOR TRUCK Rural Motor Express Gives Farmer Bigger Market fer Produce. ! The Indiana farmer appreciates the ! importance of bis "staying on th ! job." Particularly is it necessary dur; ! ing the productive season, when farm I labor i3 most difficult to obtain, that i he ehould be permitted personally to look after Ula crops and bis live stock. Many days have been counted lost, at a time when their value to maximum prrvduction was almost Incalculable, because of the fact that the faroior needed something "from town." He had no other means of. supplying his wants than by "hitch-' ing up" and going after whatever he wanted. I The motor truck lines that have '. been established, and which are expected to cover every main highway ; tn the State of Indiana, have changed ' all this. Now he (eta the same results at a nominal cost, by writing, telephoning or delivering his order to the truck driver, who brings hack and delivers to bis gate the thing that raigat have necessitated his personal attention under primitive conditions. The call for more food and .in creased acreage at a time when labor, J and particularly experienced farm j labor, has become scarcer, perhaps. . ., k-fnm in bia.nrv In many i . jjitfu v yiwo- " .....vs.. , ... eases has forced the use of power ma- T chinery, which, in most instances, tbe j farmer paying a large price therefor, has been unwilling to trust to incom- , petent hands. Every interruption of his activity, therefore, has meant a maximum loss from which it was im1 possible for him to recuperate by. ' more Intensive application, later. The Rural Motor express, therefore, das performed in concert with the farm tractor, to the saving of time and labor at a time when these meant mo6t to the cause of liberty and eivilinstion. Farmers have been able to grow more grain and vegetables with fewer horses and men; hare Increased and extended their acreage, and co-ordinated their ability to- aerve their community and the state i&ora c2ectiv!y tkrougk this wrvlce.
