Docs one suit look well after two years of seivice when another looks shabby after three weeks wear? The finst suit was all wool, long fibre, and worked with care, and the suit that is shoddy mixed with cotton will look shabby. A good linen canvas and genuine haircloth foundation will last as long as the suit and ALWAYS hold shape our suits are made that way. Cotton canvas looks just as good for the first two months, then it is onlv fit for work clothes.

lack of efficiency and economy during ihe present tpid'mie because of the fact that various forces were attempting indepently to cover similar fold---. While the board of health, the Id Cross, the Am-, ciu ed Charities, the Welfare association, the Foard of Education and the individual phj sicians and nurses all have their distinctive spheres of activity, yet their work, especially in crises such as the city is at present passing through, overlaps and there Is always danger of a lack of co-ordination and i unified effort. From the experience of the last few weeks wherein there has been a woeful lack of nursing care in certain neglected sections, due, wholly without doubt, to the lack of a central clearing house to recruit and draft an 1 direct sufficient workers, it has become apparent to all the forces in the ti -Id that the city as a whole suffers in such an emergency from a lack of united effort. The toard of health, although willing an danxiotis to have its organization used to the limit in combating the ravages of influenza an dpreventing the spread of the epidemic, yet found Itself hampered in some instances by a lack of information in regard to the work of other existing agencies. The Civilian Relief in its work of recruiting practical nurses, found difficulty in placing, recompensing and caring
for these nurses largely because of the lack of some- stablized or standardii d plan of getting the proper information and using their material where most needed. This idea of a wide unification of effort appealed at once ti the business sense of the board of directors and the resolution after being thoroughly discussed and understood was unanimously adopted. A committee was th'n appointed by Preside-nt Murray and charged with getting the various agencies into a conference to consider the idea and if found feasable to adopt a plan. This committee consists of Rev. Geo. Ti. Jones. A. G. Hoeomb and Dr. J. A. Teegarden.
