I I t I l We find that some fellows think that because there are no Scout meetings just now that they are excused from keeping the Scout Oath and l a w s. Now, follows I want to ay that when you take the Scout Oath, it means for all the time. And the lad who keeps the laws when some one is looking and forgets all about them at other times is a, pretty poor stick. Uniforms and tests do not make Scouts. A Scout is a boy or man who has been converted to a belief in the principles of Scoutcraft a boy who is trustworthy, loyal, courteous and kind and has the other Scout virtues. The boy whose word is not good, w ho steals, w ho lies, tells d't ty stories, smokes, hangs out late at n'.Sht. is rot faithful to his employer, wastes Ids time in school the feilovv who does any of these ttnngs is no Scout though he may have a first class badg.and a untforrn. Vote
for Brad"

In the above picture, Republican Candidate for County Treasurer, Ralph B. Bradford, is illustrating how simple it is to use the new voting machines now in use in 70 of the 96 precincts of the County. Mr. Bradford has already moved the big handle at the top of the picture clear to the right which closed the curtains around the machine and unlocked it to vote. He is shown pulling the Republican Party lever the second lever from the top which you can see has pulled down every little lever on the whole Republican ticket. Now if you pull back, the big handle on top you have voted a straight ticket. To vote a split ticket is just as simple. Go to any of the places shown below and they will let you run the machine yourself. Mr. Bradford appreciates keenly the backing of the boys who went over the top with him last May at the primaries. He asks the help of them and all their friends in the final charge on
